è April 8th, Tuesday, Pottawattamie County Weather Spotter Training

 

      7:00PM at the Minden Fire Station, Minden, IA

-         this is the same training that the National Weather Service presents for those who will be doing weather spotter activities for NWS.  This is open to the public.

 

è April 8th, Tuesday, Search and Rescue Training

 

 

      7:00PM, Courthouse cafeteria

      -This is the classroom part of the training and is open to the public.  This is a CERT sponsored activity and this training is a prerequisite for those planning on participating in the actual exercise on April 12th at the National Guard Armory.

 

è April 14th, Monday, EOC Severe Weather Orientation and Training

 

      6:00PM Pottawattamie County EOC

-         Pottawattamie County will conduct severe weather nets from the EOC this year.  This meeting will involve those hams who will train to be net control stations for these events.  To indicate interest, contact Terry Lindsley at the Pott. Co. EOC at 328-5779 or at ks0L@cox.net

 

è April 19th, Saturday, Light Search and Rescue Exercise

 

     8:30AM to Noon, National Guard Armory by Kmart

-         Must have attended the classroom training on April 8th to participate in this exercise.  No communications will be needed for this event.

         

è  May 5th, Monday, Quarterly ARES Planning meeting.

 

7:00pm, Pottawattamie County Courthouse (EOC).

      -This meeting is open to anyone; especially ARES members.

-Talk-in required on 147.495 MHz simplex or call 712-328-5779 to get in the building

 

è  May 17th, Saturday, The Annual Celebrate Council Bluffs Parade

 

       8:30AM Report to Staging area.  

       -Handheld 2 meter radios with backup battery and headphone

       preferred.  Talk-in on 82 repeater.  Event includes staging area activities and the eventual parade

       and concludes around Noon.

 

è  August 4th, Monday, Quarterly ARES Planning meeting.

 

7:00pm, Pottawattamie County Courthouse (EOC).

      -This meeting is open to anyone; especially ARES members.
